Journal of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Diseases was founded in February 1982 by Dr. Wu Yingkai, the father of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery in China, and Dr. Weng Xinzhi, an expert in pulmonary disease. This journal is a professional academic bimonthly issue for the prevention, health care, scientific research, and international academic exchange of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The Journal focuses on basic research, clinical techniques, and developments in cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The publication includes sections for epidemiology, clinical work, basic research, smoking and health case reports, clinical pathology discussion, and lectures, as well as columns for basic science, reviews, and academic developments and activities, among other topics. The Journal was included in American Chemical Abstracts in 2006 and was listed as one of the “Chinese scientific and technical papers and citations” periodicals by the National Ministry of Science and Technology. It was selected in the Chinese journals formation in 2001, and is included in the Chinese Core Journals (selection) and SinoMed databases.
