Na Li, Associate Professor, Research Associate
Research Interests: Stem cell bioengineering; Mechanisms of cardio-protection of mesenchymal stem cells.
Li Na is an Associate Professor at the Molecular and Cellular Biology Research Lab, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University. She obtained her PhD in Bioengineering and Biomaterials from Université Henri Poincaré, Nancy, France, and was awarded the Excellent Overseas Student Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, China, during her PhD study. From 2006 to 2011, she undertook postdoctoral research at the Stem Cell and Cancer Research Institute, University of Western Ontario and McMaster University, Canada. Her main research interests are expansion in vitro of hematopoietic stem cells, heart protection mechanisms of mesenchymal stem cells, and differentiation and regulation mechanism of neural stem cells.
Associate Professor Li has published over 10 peer-reviewed SCI research papers on stem cell biology and several papers in Chinese core journals. Currently, she has two major research directions: molecular mechanisms of the cardio-protective function of mesenchymal stem cells; and construction of a biocompatible stem cell tissue patch to further improve the heart protective function of mesenchymal stem cells. Her current major research topic is “The paracrine mechanism of mesenchymal stem cells to protect the heart from ischemia-reperfusion injury”. Funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
